Funded – 40 Food Baskets to Families Living in DC’s Ward 7 (Boots on the Ground) Cause: Poverty Project: According to the Food & Research Action Center, DC’s Ward 7 & 8 is ranked #1 among cities who have the most families (with children) who experience food insecurity. 15 Young Philanthropists volunteered to support “day-of” logistics planning for the AIDS Walk Washington! Together they cheered walkers, handed out water and assisted with clean-up. Their efforts supported the Whitman-Walker Clinic (organizers of the AIDS Walk) raise $1 million dollars by effectively engaging donors.
